Investing in the Future of Aggieland: The Power of Community & Scholarship

The heartbeat of the Aggie spirit lies not only in traditions on campus or the roar of the “Gig ’em,” but in the enduring support of families, friends and community organizations who believe in the promise of a Texas A&M University education. Two key pillars of that community-foundation partnership are the Texas A&M Foundation and the Dallas County Aggie Moms.
At our October general meeting, we were honored to host Hillary Patterson, Texas A&M Foundation’s Director of Development. She spoke to our members about the critical role of the Foundation, how scholarship endowments and gifts help shape students’ lives, and the ways our club’s contributions are multiplied through strategic partnership.

Hillary emphasized how a scholarship isn’t just a one-time award, but a meaningful stepping-stone to opening doors, relieving financial pressure, and connecting students to the larger Aggie family. In that way, our club’s efforts contribute to a legacy of support that extends beyond a single student, beyond a single year.
Hillary shared that over the past 43 years, and as of October 2025, the Dallas Aggie Moms Club has contributed an extraordinary $18,824,993.67 in scholarship funds. This incredible milestone reflects the generosity of our members and donors and our shared belief in the power of higher education, the Aggie network, and the lasting ripple effects of supporting future leaders. And we’re not done yet!!! Our momentum continues as we work to open even more doors for tomorrow’s Aggies.

As Hillary reminded us, when we support scholarships we aren’t just giving money — we’re giving opportunity, we’re giving hope, and we’re cultivating the next generation of Aggies who will, in turn, pay it forward.
Here’s to continuing our legacy of service, support and Aggie Spirit — for current students, future students, and generations of Aggies to come.
About the Texas A&M Foundation
Since its inception, the Texas A&M Foundation has served as the philanthropic engine behind the university’s long-term success, providing a structured and strategic way for donors to establish scholarships, endowments and gifts that support students, faculty and infrastructure. On its website, the Foundation states its mission as “Building a brighter future for Texas A&M University since 1953.”
Through targeted programs such as scholarships, planned gifts, and endowments, the Foundation gives individuals and organizations the vehicle to make meaningful impact. In turn, this means students have access to resources that make the Aggie experience more attainable, more equitable and more transformational.
